Continuing Education; Non-Credit Programs:

SkillSoft has partnered with GMU and will award non-credit certificates in continuing education to students who successfully complete SkillSofts non-degree courses. The CEU (Continuing Education Unit) is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in a non-credit continuing education program. This online curriculum is available to all continuing education students at the university.
Janet Niblock, executive director of continuing professional education stated,
"The fact that more adults are turning to continuing education programs makes our relationship with SkillSoft ideal. Utilizing technology enables us to extend our reach to working professionals."
Specific partnership information includes:
One CEU will be awarded for every 10 hours of SkillSoft instruction. All SkillSoft courses have been granted CEU accreditation. Customers who successfully complete SkillSoft courses are eligible to earn CEUs from GMU. A permanent record of CEUs will be maintained by GMU in an easily accessible database that can be used for purposes of verification and certification. The following process must be followed to receive GMU CEUs and certificates:
Submit a copy of the learning transcript (LMS) form capturing the following information:
- Learner Name/SS#
- Course/Series Name
- Date of Completion
- Post-Test Scores
- Signature of Training or HR Manager
A $20.00 fee will be charged per certificate/per subject area for non-profit and $30.00 per certificate/per subject area for profit organizations.
