Future Direction

The SkillSoft acquisition of NETg is now complete. This event brings together two great companies in e-learning to form a new organization focused on providing innovative learning solutions to a global customer base. With the combined resources and experience of the new company, we are confident that we will be able to achieve even higher levels of performance in all aspects of our business.

This is an exciting time to be in the learning profession. Learning has taken on a more visible role in solving key business issues. The definition of learning itself has expanded to include more kinds of problem-solving and information-gathering activities, often referred to as informal learning. New forms of content are coming to market that engage learners with rich media and interactive challenges. Technology advances have made it possible for learning to be tailored to the needs of employees and delivered directly to their work environments. We’re looking forward to exploring this ever-evolving learning landscape with you, and continuing to build on our mission of connected learning.

SkillSoft’s courseware offering has expanded by approximately 1,200 titles with the addition of courses from NETg’s library. These courses are available in separate collections targeted at IT, business skills, desktop and compliance learning needs. We have also added a collection of courses focused on the needs of small businesses and consumers.

SkillSoft has incorporated the NETg virtual, instructor-led training solution under the name, SkillSoft Live Learning™. This offering, new to SkillSoft customers, expands our ability to serve customers for which instructor-led training is an important component of training programs. SkillSoft plans to support the NETg content on its flagship learning management system SkillPort™ and on third party LMS’ via OLSA. We intend to integrate SkillSoft content with the major NETg learning management platforms, including SkillSoft courseware and Books24x7 on demand content collections. Our objective with these product integration efforts is to enable you to receive timely access to the content offered by both companies, while SkillSoft executes toward our long-term goal of offering a single unified LMS platform.

There are additional NETg products and innovations, such as LearnFlow, that we are just now able to assess. While we are unable to commit to these items, we look forward to communicating further intentions about product additions in the months ahead.

While this acquisition has enriched SkillSoft’s portfolio of products, it doesn’t change our commitment to providing our depth and breadth of high-quality content; technology solutions that are flexible and easy to use; and services that ensure alignment with our customers’ evolving needs. We also remain strongly committed to listening to our customers’ input, and using that information to guide our near and far term development plans.
