Reduces or eliminates the manual effort needed to install SkillSoft course assets in an LMS. The initial course load and subsequent loads of newly-released titles can be automated.
The OLSA Federated Search web service enables the LMS to present, in addition to courses, links to additional Skillsoft learning assets such as Job Aids, SkillBriefs, Books and videos. Any enhancements that SkillSoft makes to their search feature will benefit our clients with no additional investment in integration work.
This service enables clients to take full advantage of Advanced Learning Content like KnowledgeCenters, Live Learning and off-line play using the SkillSoft Courseware Manager (SCM). When On-demand Communication is enabled in an LMS, the OLSA server is set to return all progress data to the OLSA Server.
For courses launched directly from the LMS, the LMS uses On-demand Communication to automatically pull in progress data whenever a course exit is detected. Additionally, the LMS interrogates the OLSA Server periodically to request any progress data from courses launched from a KnowledgeCenter of taken off-line.
Using the OLSA Catalog Synchronization service, the LMS can help the LMS Administrator display SkillSoft courses in a meaningful catalog structure to learners. This puts the courses into context, by topic, and in the suggested learning order.
Additional Web services are also available to address User and Group management, reporting, and seamless login capabilities.
