Camberley, 27th February, 2015:
Skillsoft, an international learning solutions provider, reinforces today its position as a leading elearning solution provider in the Care sector by announcing their Care Certificate solution. The solution has been designed to help clients deliver and track their learner's progress to meeting the demands of the new Care Certificate Standards, which replace Common Induction Standards from April, 2015.
The Care Certificate is the new induction standard for all social and health care workers in England, defining the required values, behaviours and competencies a new carer must learn and demonstrate in their first 12 weeks of employment. The standards emphasise the workplace competency level which must be achieved and demonstrated by a carer in order to be eligible for their Care Certificate. Care employers face the challenge of teaching and assessing new and existing employees against the new standards in an auditable way.
Skillsoft's Care Certificate solution is the answer – it provides the learning, assessment support and management tools to deliver an effective care certificate programme to employees, helping them to demonstrate the new standards in the workplace, and go on to provide high quality, compassionate care.
Included in the Skillsoft solution are:
"We are delighted to announce the development of our Care Certificate solution," Mike Newton, Skillsoft's UK Director of Compliance commented. "Larger care organisations will have the choice of deploying the solution through our Skillport compliance LMS or through our Enterprise Learn LMS, which can be used in conjunction with our talent management and workforce management platforms. Smaller care organisations are also well catered for and can administer the solution through our Academy learning platform."
"Many existing staff will have already have completed the training required for induction as specified by the previous care standards, but employers are responsible for judging whether the jobs of individual staff require them to meet the additional standards in the Care Certificate. Our solution helps employers to assess the skills and training needs of staff, and based on this assessment, provides training in the standards required before awarding the Care Certificate."
Mike continues, "This solution will provide the perfect opportunity for care sector organisations that are looking for an alternative to their current service provider or that have aspirations to expand their use of elearning outside of compliance – e.g. leadership, management, soft-skills, finance or IT skills - to review our purpose built Care Certificate solution and ever expanding library of non-compliance offerings. We are fully committed to expanding our library of online courses for the care sector and welcome suggestions on new topics for future course development."
