SkillSoft Announces Availability of Legal Compliance Courses

New three-course series addresses federal and state compliance requirements for sexual harassment training
 

NASHUA, N.H., June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SkillSoft PLC (Nasdaq: SKIL), a leading provider of content resources and complementary technologies for integrated enterprise learning, announced today the availability of three new courses in its Legal Compliance collection designed to address federal and state requirements for sexual harassment training. One of the courses, "Sexual Harassment Awareness for Supervisors and Managers," addresses the requirements for training outlined in California AB 1825, which goes into effect for all companies on January 1, 2006.

These self-paced, Web-based courses can be easily customized to include company-specific policies for dealing with harassment and complemented with interactive activities. The courses include high levels of interaction -- incorporating feedback choices, animated graphics, role plays, and situational case studies -- to meet a range of learning needs and styles of diverse employee audiences. Courses can be deployed, managed, and tracked through SkillPort(TM), SkillSoft's learning management system; SkillSoft Academy, SkillSoft's compliance-based learning management system; or third-party, AICC- or SCORM-compliant learning management systems.

  • "Sexual Harassment Awareness for Employees," designed to help employees recognize prohibited conduct and understand the reporting process for incidents and the associated ramifications for potential offenders.
  • "Workplace Harassment," designed to increase awareness of various forms of workplace harassment and empower individuals by offering ways to prevent and confront inappropriate behavior and access appropriate resources.

The sexual harassment courses can be licensed as a series, as individual titles, or as part of the Legal Compliance collection. SkillSoft expects to add over the next 90 days an additional 22 courses on legal issues such as Sarbanes-Oxley, ethics, antitrust, insider trading, and HIPAA.
