Skillsoft, an innovative pioneer in the field of learning who provides cloud-based learning solutions for its customers worldwide, announced the four winners who received top elearning and industry honours during its annual Perspectives Australia User Conference.
The Innovation Awards honoured Australia and New Zealand Skillsoft customers for their significant achievements in elearning, recognising innovative ideas and inspiring leaders who are helping to transform the learning landscape.
The two-day Perspectives Australia Conference is attended by over 100 attendees, representing over 80 companies, from many Fortune 500 including Nestle Australia, Suncorp, Linfox and Deloitte.
The awards were judged by a panel of industry experts, including Rob Clarke, Founder, LearnX Foundation and LearnX Asia Pacific, Shawn Hunter, Executive Producer, Skillsoft, Kieran King, Global Director, Loyalty Strategy, Skillsoft, Jim Zimmerman, Director, Research Products, Skillsoft, and Jan Bayliss, Director, Consulting and Technical Services, Skillsoft Asia Pacific.
According to Skillsoft Asia Pacific's Vice President and Managing Director, Glenn Nott, the depth of talent in this year's contenders reflects the level of dynamic thinking and execution that exists in contemporary business learning.
"We are once again blown away by the level of ingenuity showcased by our customers who have achieved great business results with their high quality of learning leadership and programs within their organisations," he said.
"We have seen first-hand how businesses organically flourish with an innovative and multi-layered approach to learning. They are true champions in employee training, talent management and leadership development, and Skillsoft is humbled to be part of that process.
"Each of the award recipients has lifted the bar when it comes to finding the true value of learning and instilling that ethos to all users – with enthusiasm, consistency and success. They are each inspirational, motivated and flexible – signature characteristics of the ever-changing face of elearning."
According to Rob Clarke from the LearnX Foundation and a judge of the Innovation Awards, all the entrants had one thing in common – their hunger for high calibre creative learning.
"It was so exciting to witness the evolution of companies who have prioritised diverse learning practises into their organisation and then reap the benefits." he said.
The Perspectives Australia 2012 Innovation Award winners are:
• Learning Champion of the Year – Ella Zhang, Bank of China
• Program of the Year – Telstra
• Best IT Company – Ventyx
• Inspiring Leadership Development – ManpowerGroup
The annual Skillsoft Perspectives Australia conference brings together Skillsoft customers to network, interact and learn from each other and enables learning professionals from across business, government and education to gather and discuss how to link learning to business value and other innovative learning subjects.
This year, Skillsoft set up more intimate opportunities for the audience to demonstrate and experience Skillport 8® – the revolutionary cloud-based learning experience that contextually organises relevant and aligned learning around the user instead of the traditional course-catalogue approach of other Learning Management Systems (LMSs).
In addition, the Solutions Showcase presented four hot-topic areas of elearning – Leadership, Mobile Learning, Skillport and Learning Technologies, and ROI and Services – all were a big hit with attendees.
Perspectives Australia was also an opportunity to hear from a number of industry-recognised speakers, including Sue Langley, CEO of Emotional Intelligence Worldwide, Sue Brazil, Head of IT Capability, Westpac New Zealand, and Mark Cook, Executive General Manager, Suncorp Business Service, among others.
