REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--March 26, 2002- SmartForce (Nasdaq: SMTF), the world's largest e-Learning company, today announced that it will host its "Perspectives" users' conference on April 21-24 2002 in New Orleans.
With a focus on the real business results and outcomes that can be achieved through learning, the conference will feature workshops and case studies exploring the ways in which customers can achieve, through e-enabled learning, competitive advantage, reduced costs, faster product launches, more productive sales and distribution partner networks and enhanced customer loyalty. Advanced, half-day workshops will acquaint attendees with methods for determining return on investment, aligning learning with strategic objectives, marketing e-Learning to employees and deploying e-Learning in healthcare businesses. In addition, hands-on labs will be featured covering MySmartForce administration, custom content publishing, learning management tools and other topics.
Elliot Masie, a pioneer in learning technology and organizational development and founder of The Online Learning Council, will deliver a keynote address on the latest developments in e-Learning. Other keynote speakers include Amy Wright, Global Learning and Professional Development Partner PwC Consulting, Rey Ramsey, CEO of One Economy, a Washington, D.C-based nonprofit organization providing low-income groups with access to technology, and Greg Priest, SmartForce's chairman and CEO. An added benefit for attendees, John Cone, chair of the board of the American Society for Training and Development and recently retired VP of Dell Learning & Development, will deliver a keynote during the conference. During John's tenure, Dell Learning received the "World Class Innovator" award from Innovation Associates and Fast Company Magazine, recognition as "Corporate University of the Year" by the National Alliance of Business, and the "Excellence Award" presented by Corporate University Exchange and the Financial Times. John Cone brings his considerable expertise in the e-Learning industry to the Perspectives audience.
