Working knowledge of Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT Workstation 4.0 from administrative, support, and architectural perspectives

Lesson Objectivesidentify the responsibilities of an administrator when setting up a new network and maintaining hardware and data.
recognize how to use elements of the Windows 2000 desktop interface, install different languages to create documents, and identify and configure different accessibility options.
recognize how to log on using a valid user name and password, and define the different user security options for locking your computer, changing your password, managing tasks, and logging off and shutting down your computer.
recognize the purpose of Microsoft Management Consoles (MMCs) and their components, identify the preconfigured MMCs and their functions, and create a customized console using existing snap-ins and extensions.
create an Microsoft Management Console (MMC ) by opening the MMC interface in Author mode and adding a snap-in to the Console Root, and create and save a new window with the Disk Defragmenter snap-in as the Console Root.
