Overview/Description
The CompTIA A+ Certification: IT Technician course conveys the hardware, operating system, network, security and customer support skills expected of an entry-level IT technician who will have a high level of interaction with clients. This course covers the integral components of computer systems including the CPU, memory, disks, power supplies and expansion cards. Common devices found in business settings such as laptops, PDAs, printers and monitors are also featured. A major section of this course is dedicated towards managing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.

Target Audience
This course is recommended for any student interested in becoming an IT Technician. It is the second of two courses that support the A+ IT Technician certification.

Prerequisites
To benefit fully from this course, students should have the following prerequisite courses/skills and knowledge:
  • Computer user-level skills
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers
  • Succesful completion of A+ Essentials coursework, or equivalent experience
