Designing a Database Server Infrastructure with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is for professional database administrators who are interested in defining highly available and secure solutions for enterprise or midsize organizations. Topics covered in this course include designing replication strategies, recovery solutions, service and object level security, physical storage, and database mirroring. This course prepares database administrators for the following certification: Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator.
Target Audience
Candidates for this course include certified SQL Server 2000 database administrators who are on the upgrade path for the IT Professional: Database Administrator for SQL 2005 certification. This is the second of two exams necessary to earn the MCITP credential. The first exam is Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2005. Individuals not interested in earning certification but do have three years experience specifically with databases will also benefit from this class.
Prerequisites
To fully benefit from this course, students should have completed the course Implementing and Maintaining SQL Server 2005 or have three years of experience specializing in database administration.
