Overview/Description
This course focuses on installing and configuring Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and configuring various roles such as WSUS, Certificate Services, DNS, DHCP and High Availability services using SAN’s. Installation technologies include using Diskpart, BitLocker, and Group Policy for deployment. The course also implements IPv4 and IPv6 in various configurations while helping you to identify resolution to these addresses with DNS. Additionally, you will be taught how to implement Patch Management and to Secure and Monitor Servers in Windows Server 2008 with such services and utilities as Encryption, WSUS, Group Policy, Performance Monitor and Data Collector, just to name a few.

Target Audience
This course is recommended for IT Professionals who are currently implementing Windows Server 2008 in their networks and have the need for advanced instruction on troubleshooting and optimizing their installations, or who plan to be implementing Windows Server 2008 in their networks in the next year.

Prerequisites
To fully benefit from this course, the student should have basic knowledge of Windows Server 2000 and/or 2003, Active Directory, understand basic security concepts and methodologies, familiarity with services such as DHCP, DNS, SAN’s and Backup Strategies. The student must have basic computing skills on using a mouse, a keyboard, a web browser, and the ability to navigate through various menus. The student must understand spoken and written English.
