Overview/Description
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) course is designed for project team members, entry-level project management practitioners and students at the undergraduate or graduate level who wish to establish and demonstrate fundamental project management knowledge through educational, examination based credentials. For project team members and project support, the CAPM improves communication with colleagues by testing project management terminology and processes, and also elevates contributions to projects. For entry-level project management practitioners, the CAPM differentiates you from your peers by demonstrating command of project management terms and processes. It can also be a stepping-stone toward acquiring PMI's more rigorous PMP credential. For students at the undergraduate and graduate level, the CAPM provides a head start when entering the work force. The CAPM certification is one of the few certifications available at this early stage of professional growth.

Target Audience
This course is ideal for project management practitioners who have demonstrated fundamental project management knowledge and experience by supporting projects using project management tools, techniques, and methodologies, and who want to be acknowledged for their project management skills and contributions. Typically, these practitioners are in the early stages of their careers in project management, and have served on project management teams as project leaders and project team members who rely on experienced project management practitioners for guidance, direction, and approval. Because they are in the early stages of their careers they do not have the experience and education to certify as a PMP. This CAPM provides early recognition and impetus to continue to grow and contribute within the profession.

Prerequisites
To effectively use this course to prepare for the CAPM examination, it is recommended that learners successfully complete the course Superior Project Management (SPM), or have previous project management experience.
