Customer Content Publishing Module

Many customers complement their wide range of SkillSoft content with company specific custom content. Today, custom content can be integrated into SkillPort through the services of SkillSoft’s Custom Solutions group.

SkillSoft has developed the Customer Content Publishing Solution, a set of tools designed to expand the options available to customers for delivering custom content into SkillPort with greater speed and with lower service costs.

Customers that are in a position to take on more of the responsibility for testing, deploying and maintaining their custom content will gain control over the publishing process using the SkillPort Customer Content Publishing Solution.

The Customer Content Publishing Solution supports AICC and SCORM conformant content developed using third-party authoring applications, as well as courses created with SkillSoft’s Course Customization Toolkit (CCT), e3 Mix & Match tool and sessions recorded in SkillSoft Dialogue.

It also supports passive content, like Adobe® PDF or Microsoft® PowerPoint and Word files, which do not offer scoring or tracking like traditional courseware.

The Customer Content Publishing Solution has two components, the SkillPort Compatibility Toolkit and SkillPort Customer Content Publisher.

The SkillPort Compatibility Toolkit enables customers to quickly test and package proprietary content for deployment to students via SkillPort.

The SkillPort Customer Content Publisher enables customers to preview their custom content in a live SkillPort implementation and quickly publish proprietary content to students on their SkillSoft-hosted SkillPort site.
