SkillSoft and CSC Team Up to Help Organizations Reduce Their Impact on the Environment

Companies Offer Free Access to Award-Winning Online Learning and Best Practices Resources

The “Make an Impact without Leaving an Impact” Web site, which gives visitors access to technology-enabled learning content, including videos, courses, books and white papers, will be made available from Earth Day, April 22, to World Environment Day, June 5.

Visitors to the site are asked to contribute ideas for how businesses can reduce impact on the environment. The most innovative ideas will be published on the site.

The site also provides public access to a sampling of some of SkillSoft’s most popular products, including online courses, selected Books24x7® titles, and “GreenTalks” videos featuring environmentally-focused thought leaders. One video features John A. Glowacki Jr., CSC’s chief technology officer, discussing the company’s research on environmental best practices for IT. An ExecSummary® of the popular book Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value and Add Competitive Advantage by Daniel Esty and Andrew Winston, is also included.

In addition, white papers are available from both SkillSoft and CSC’s Leading Edge Forum that highlight pro-active steps that organizations can take in both IT and training to positively impact the environment. Taking online courses as an alternative to classes that require travel and facilities costs is one example of how individuals can make decisions to help reduce a company’s overall carbon footprint.
