Leadership Skills Training Lesson: Leadership Demands Growth

By Shawn Hunter

Ram Charan has said if a person cannot motivate, cannot stretch, cannot develop, that person is not a leader.  In the effort to ensure the Leadership Development Channel is a leading resource for leaders at all levels, the ability to motivate, the capacity to inspire, and the commitment to continuous development matter.

Over the last six months, the Leadership Development Channel has added nearly 200 new videos from 30 unique speakers. We have been actively developing filming collaborations with a growing number of internationally recognized executives and thought leaders. The collection has grown to include more than 2,000 video assets.

Our latest additions include inspiration from some of the world’s most recognized leaders and management gurus.

Curt Coffman, author of First, Break All the Rules: What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently, delivers QuickTalks on the science and religion of organizational culture, interviewing for talent, collaboration and more. Jeanne Meister, co-author of The 2020 Workplace, covers reverse mentoring, the impact of mobility on learning, social influence networks and the 2020 mindset. Shawn Achor, Carol Roth, Vikas Kapoor, Renee Mauborgne, and Laura Stack all contribute actionable messages that can inspire and jumpstart teams and organizations around the world.

SkillSoft’s Leadership Development Channel is designed to help subscribing organizations develop their managers and leaders to be more effective at managing people and driving results. We’re committed to evolving the collection to reflect emerging trends and innovative ideas about leadership.

Bob tells bosses to ask themselves, “after people interact with you, after they talk to you, when they leave do they have more or less energy?”  I definitely found myself energized after watching some of the new additions to the Leadership Development Channel.  Jim Kouzes’ QuickTalk on The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, Terri Kelly’s discussion of how culture drives business results, Gary Hamel’s ides on reinventing management… Explore some of the latest videos and share the ones that most energize, inspire and motivate you.
