Welch Way: Generating Buzz and Industry Accolades for Superior Learning Content

By Priti Shah

Eight months ago Skillsoft announced our partnership with the Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI) to become the exclusive global distributor of Welch Way management development solutions. Time has truly flown by and over the past eight months the Welch Way program has generated much buzz within the elearning industry, with our customers and even with our own Skillsoft employees.

The Welch Way collection of online programs was developed by Jack Welch himself so that he could share his lifelong passion for developing great leaders. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with Jack personally and I can share firsthand that when Jack speaks about his leadership philosophies, he ignites an incredible energy level in the room.

Jack’s passion shines through in these programs and is now being recognized industry-wide. Most recently, we were delighted to receive the CLO Excellence in Content Silver Award which recognized our accomplishments in creating superior learning content. And not only is this program being recognized by the industry, but customers are also adopting the Welch Way program with great success and sharing concrete and immediately-actionable examples of how this program is changing the leaders in their organization.

Internally, Skillsoft is also “practicing what we preach,” so to speak. Approximately 120 leaders within Skillsoft recently completed the Welch Way Leadership in Action program. Guided by Jack’s expertise, our leaders have made significant impact on our organization by implementing new hiring processes, establishing new goal-setting processes and evaluating and enhancing our corporate mission statement.

Jack Welch is passionate about sharing his lessons on leadership and business strategy and I am thrilled to be able to continue to share this passion with our Skillsoft partners!
