Skillsoft’s Summer of Partnerships

By Sean Masterman

The American author Sam Keen once wrote “Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.” If that’s true, this has the been most respectable summer ever for my family! However, at Skillsoft, we have spent the lazy, hazy days working hard teaming up with some great partners to create new opportunities for learning, education and talent development for years to come. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to:

Gale Partners with Skillsoft to Expand Workforce Training Opportunities at Public Libraries

It’s important for organizations to take a strong role in developing and nurturing their employees, but it’s just as important for individuals to take ownership of their personal development. Making Skillsoft learning available to library patrons helps put the power in your hands, and we’re thrilled to be working with Gale to make this possible.

Skillsoft Launches College Credit Business Certificate in Partnership with Patten University

“There is clear evidence that a traditional college degree pays off in the long run, but increasing college costs, student debt burdens and the inability to achieve immediate ROI are causing working professionals to consider alternative options for achieving their educational and vocational goals,” said John Ambrose, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Skillsoft. “By offering an accredited education program through Patten University, Skillsoft can help our customers support their employees in developing the skills they need to advance their careers while also cultivating an evergreen source of talent for the organization.”

Blackboard and Skillsoft Partner to Deliver Career-Development Content to Professional Learners

Blackboard learners and instructors will now have access to Skillsoft’s library of professional training and certification content, including IT certification, compliance, risk mitigation, sales performance, talent management, HR, and skills development for professionals, faculty and students.

As you are soaking up the last of the summer sun, we hope you have been able to pause for a moment (or a few!) to enjoy it. There’s nothing like sitting on the beach, riding a wave, hiking in your favorite national park or just sitting on a bench sharing an ice cream before it melts—and sharing that memory together with friends and family (no selfies required). As the leaves start to turn and the cool air brings relief, we will keep working with great partners to bring you more. Enjoy!
