Everyone, and I mean everyone, who is in the HR, talent, and learning space knows that last week was the HR Technology Conference and Expo (HR Tech). Aside from being in Las Vegas, which is a draw for many, the show itself has become the must-attend event of the fall. It was well-attended and a hotbed of excitement and amazing new innovations.
But this post isn’t about HR Tech.
What fewer folks may be aware of is that immediately preceding HR Tech, there was another one-day, pre-conference for HR technology vendors, influencers, and partners called InfluenceHR hosted by the smart guys at The Starr Conspiracy. InfluenceHR is unlike any other conference I have ever attended. Despite starting at 8 a.m. on a Sunday (remember, in Vegas!), the room was packed with 180 top execs in HCM marketing (according to the event organizers, 40 percent of whom are C-level).
In a fast-paced six hours, there were panels of HR technology buyers and investors, a lively discussion about the HR technology market in Asia-Pacific, and even a keynote from R Ray Wang, CEO, Principal Analyst, Constellation Research and author of the new book Disrupting Digital Business. I even got a signed copy of the book. Thanks, Ray!
But the definite highlight of the conference for me was when Skillsoft was honored with the InfluenceHR Brand Power Award for Enterprise Learning. We received a very impressive looking statue, which of course we will proudly show off at the office. But more importantly, getting recognized for excellence in enterprise learning — an increasingly important part of the overall talent suite, according to the Starr team – for both our platform and vast content solutions, is a huge endorsement of our leadership, experience, and commitment to customer success. I am already looking forward to InfluenceHR 2016.
