Why are there more of your namesakes, men called John, let alone simply more men, running FTSE 100 companies than women? (17 vs 7 in case you were curious.)
Why has the proportion of senior business roles held by women in the U.K. fallen from 21% in 2016 to 19% in 2017?
Why has the percentage of businesses in the U.K. with no women in senior management risen from 36% in 2016 to 41% in 2017?
Why is that even when boardroom positions are held by women, they tend to be non-executive and part-time director positions?
Why is that in 2017, I am still writing about this?
So, here’s what I’m thinking. We need to do something. Perhaps it is time we heard from companies who are getting it right, who are promoting women and who see the vital role they must play to ensure this path is kept open?
And where might we do this?
