Talent development is not just about supporting individuals. Both the individual and organizational aspects of talent must come together for companies to meet strategic goals and achieve organizational effectiveness. In Measuring and Maximizing the Impact of Talent Development, Alec Levenson explains how a systems approach can increase the impact of talent development efforts. When leaders measure talent across the organization, they can eliminate the gaps between where the organization is and where it ought to be.

In this issue of TD at Work, you will find:

  • a definition of the systems approach to talent development
  • a model for moving beyond measuring individual performance
  • advice for prioritizing talent development challenges
  • examples of how to take a systems approach to traditional talent development activities.
