The California Privacy Rights Act, adopted by referendum, builds on California’s previous Consumer Privacy Act, the first general consumer privacy law in the U.S. The CPRA’s substantive provisions take effect on Jan. 1, 2023. Many companies will be subject to the CPRA directly; others will need to understand its terms either because they provide services to businesses subject to the CPRA, or because the CPRA will set consumer expectations. In this course, you will learn about the types of businesses and information that are covered by the CPRA, the rights of consumers under CPRA, and the obligations imposed on businesses covered by the CPRA. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by The Potomac Law Group, PLLC.
