Leadership & Business Skills: August 2021 Releases and 90-day Development Plan

Continuing throughout July, we’re pleased to bring you relevant and engaging content designed for the modern, digital learner. From courses and events to digital books and a book club, there’s sure to something for every learner!

Skillsoft has launched an exciting new 8-course Customer Service Curriculum focused on customer experience management. The last two courses are now available, rounding out the offering in our Business Skills Library! They are: Customer Service: Becoming a Chat Agent Star and Customer Service: Growing and Learning as a CSR. See below for screen shots and see our highlights video here.

Each 30-minute course is intended to educate new and seasoned customer service representatives on how to provide next-level service. These courses were written in partnership with NueBridge, LLC – a global consulting and advisory firm focused on customer experience management, operational excellence, and strategic growth. These courses are also featured in a new Aspire journey titled, Customer Experience Manager Journey.

Speaking of Aspire Journeys, during August, we also released several new Business Skills Aspire Journeys. Many of these new role-based journeys are powered by Burning Glass skills data. We've created these journeys for the most in-demand and fastest-growing roles according to Burning Glass’s robust data collection and analysis. (Note the Burning Glass logo in the upper left of the Aspire Journey title card.) The journey tracks are based on the key skills needed to be successful in each popular role. We'll continue to add new Aspire Journeys each month!

For August, Off the Shelf shines the spotlight on The Infinite Leader: Balancing the Demands of Modern Business Leadership, by Chris Lewis and Pippa Malmgren. The authors explore reasons for failures in leadership, and analyze how existing leadership models contributed to our present predicament—a world where leaders are all too often caught off guard. This selection is available on Percipio as a digital book and a book summary.

In September, we’ll highlight The Work-Life Balance Myth: Rethinking Your Optimal Balance for Success by David J. McNeff. While the author stresses that no one can ever truly achieve a mathematically precise “balance” in life, nor should we try to, he advocates implementing his Seven-Slice Method to regain control of our lives through a sense of harmony instead.
