If you have programmed in Java before but are not up to date with the current Java language and technologies, you can still use this book as it comes with a Java refresher. In fact, the Java refresher includes all the materials you need to master to pass the exam. Each of the eight chapters in the Java refresher comes with ten questions to test your knowledge on the subjects discussed in the chapter. These questions are similar to what you would expect in a real exam. In addition, at the end of the book you will find a full mock exam to test how prepared you are to take the exam. It is a good idea to try the mock exam before you take the real test. Even if you have several years experience with Java, you might still fail or might not pass with flying colors. Why? Because there may be questions that might surprise you, that you as a developer may never have thought about. Bear in mind that if you fail the exam, you will have to pay again to retake it. It currently costs a couple hundred dollars, so make sure you only take the exam when you are really ready.
