Happy October!

Since we are celebrating National Learning and Development Month throughout October, it gave me the opportunity to think about the various ways we can use readable assets—books, articles, audiobooks, book summaries, and audio summaries—to find the information we need in order to learn. Do you like to read or listen to a book cover-to-cover while jotting down key points? Or do you prefer going directly to the relevant chapters or sections that pique your interest? Some people enjoy the immersive experience of reading a book from start to finish, while others prefer jumping to specific sections that interest them. It depends on your learning style, the nature of the content, and your goals for reading. Getting the most out of your reading experience involves a combination of effective strategies, active engagement, and thoughtful reflection.

Reading is a powerful tool for acquiring knowledge; however it's essential to select material that aligns with your learning goals and interests. Choosing content that resonates with you not only enhances your comprehension and retention. It can also bring enjoyment and satisfaction, making it fun to learn. Skillsoft's Percipio platform hosts a large library of carefully curated readable assets to aid in your learning journey. And our OFF THE SHELF book club is an excellent way to engage in thought-provoking discussions about what you've read, and to think critically, which fosters learning and engagement.

This month, I encourage you to embrace a lifelong learning mindset, recognizing that reading is not just a means to an end but a continuous journey of intellectual growth and exploration. By approaching reading with intention and curiosity, you're able to unlock your potential to learn—and the doors to a wealth of knowledge.

This newsletter features new releases, a roadmap for the next three months, information about our monthly book club selections and bookshelves, occasional publisher updates, and other book-related news. As you browse through this month's new releases, I invite you to find new ways to incorporate books into your learning solutions.

We add new content daily and remain committed to offering best-in-class content from our valued publisher partners. Check out some of these
recently released books, audiobooks, and book summaries, and add them to your reading list!

Now, more than ever, “communication intelligence” is essential for workers at all levels. The good news is that you can learn to develop and master this vital competency. If you’re interested in being your best through effective communication, that’s exactly what you will find in the pages of Communication Intelligence.
With more than four decades of study, research, and coaching in the field, C.D. “Hoop” Morgan III has built on the original premise of The Forté Institute: That assessing an individual’s communication style should start with a focus on their strengths―not their weaknesses.

Communication Intelligence is available on Percipio as a digital book and an audiobook.
