About the Authors

Diane Altwies, MBA, PMP, has been managing software development projects for nearly 30 years as a program manager or project manager in the insurance, financial services, and healthcare industries. She is the CEO of Core Performance Concepts, Inc. She continues to teach and consult for organizations on various program management, project management, and business analysis topics and develops advanced courseware topics for project managers. Diane is a frequent speaker at professional meetings and symposia across the country. She is a Fellow of PMI Orange County and has an MBA in Finance and Marketing and a BA in Production Management, both from the University of South Florida. In addition to this book, she has co-authored two others: Program Management Professional: A Certification Study Guide with Best Practices for Maximizing Business Results and Achieve PMP Exam Success: A Concise Study Guide for the Busy Project Manager.

Janice Preston, MBA, CPA, PMP, has been managing projects for more than 25 years in industries as diverse as real estate, finance, healthcare, and technology. For more than 15 years, she has developed course curricula in project management and has been responsible for creating several project management certificate programs at leading universities. She writes and speaks on many project management topics, including team leadership, communication skills, earned value, cost control, and procurement. She is considered an expert in the field of risk management and has consulted on updates to the PMBOK® Guide's risk management knowledge area. She is a Fellow of PMI Orange County and has an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Missouri and a BA in Education from the University of Central Florida. Her other publications include Achieve PMP Exam Success: A Concise Study Guide for the Busy Project Manager.

Frank Reynolds, CAPM since 2008, was a PMI-Orange County Chapter 2006 Project Management Fellow and a PMP from 1992 to 2005. Frank has over 35 years of experience in project management in a variety of industries, professions, and cultures. He has been acknowledged for supporting clients whose projects demand the integration of a variety of disciplines. Throughout his career, Frank has often consulted with and trained project managers and project participants in manufacturing, information technology, transportation, urban design, telecommunications, engineering, and construction in multi-disciplinary project settings. He has taught and consulted extensively in the United States and China as well as Dubai, Brazil, Spain, France, Poland, Singapore, and Malaysia. Frank is a frequent speaker at professional meetings and symposia across the country. He is a pioneer in training members of project teams and promotes PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management certification.
