About the Author

Educator. Artist. Animator.

Joe Micallef's love and enthusiasm in creating original character models for 3D printing, animation, and video games are matched by decades of professional experience and industry knowledge. He has developed new workflows that combined animation and 3D printing for manufacturing organizations (localand nationwide).

Joe currently teaches design, modeling, and animation at Pasadena City College. He is a contributing editor at 3D Printer World and a consultant to major Hollywood studios on training digital media and 3D Printing. He earned his MFA in Animation at the University of Southern California in 2008. At USC, Joe was awarded an Annenberg Fellowship and appointed the University's Adobe Scholar. His animated short, Mind Wiggles, was officially selected for int'l film festival screenings in Beijing and India in 2006.
