About the Author

Over the last 48 years, in the position of a designer, end user and consultant, Bill has had the opportunity to be involved with all types of rotating equipment: pumps, compressors, gears, mixers, extruders, melt pumps, steam turbines, gas turbines and their associated auxiliary systems. Involvement consisted of: total component and system centrifugal compressor design, specification writing for a major oil company, selection of all types of rotating equipment from all major vendors, design audits, shop testing, start-up and troubleshooting for all major gas processing, chemical and refining companies world-wide. This background has resulted in a lot of ‘Lessons Learned’ and many of them coming the ‘hard way’!
