About the Authors

Richard Kohan is a Personal Financial Services Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Private Company Services practice in Boston. Rich's responsibilities include serving as the national strategic leader of the PCS focus on high-net-worth individual (HNWI) clients, as the tax leader of the Boston PCS tax practice, and as a trusted advisor to HNWI clients. He is the client engagement partner on several high-net-worth individual client relationships. As their personal trusted advisor, Rich addresses many tax, wealth management, and transfer matters for them and their families. In addition, Rich speaks on leading-edge financial planning topics such as executive wealth transfer techniques, investment strategies, employee benefits, stock options, and retirement planning. He leads seminars on various aspects of financial planning for PricewaterhouseCoopers professionals, as well as top executives in a number of Fortune 1000 companies. Rich received a BS in political science from Syracuse University, a JD from Western New England School of Law, and an LLM in tax from Boston University School of Law. Rich is a member of both the American and Connecticut bar associations.

Mark T. Nash is a Personal Financial Services Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Private Company Services practice in Dallas. He has over 20 years of experience in the areas of individual, estate, gift, and trust tax compliance and planning. His professional practice deals extensively with high-net-worth individuals and family groups, closely held businesses, and corporate executives. His clients have included C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies as well as several individuals on the Forbes list of wealthiest Americans. Mark holds a BS in commerce from the University of Virginia, and master's degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Oxford University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of CPAs, and the Dallas Estate Planning Council. Mark is also a Certified Financial Planner and holds the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Specialist designation.

Brittney B. Saks is a Personal Financial Services Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Private Company Services practice in Chicago. Brittney has provided income, trust and estate tax consulting and compliance services, which include compensation, investment, business succession, charitable giving, and retirement planning strategies, to business owners, corporate executives, and wealthy families for the past 17 years. Most of Brittney's time is spent working with high-net-worth family tax and financial planning issues, both from a consulting and from a compliance perspective. She is the lead engagement partner on some of the largest and most complex family office clients in Chicago. Brittney has received the Personal Financial Specialist designation and is a certified public accountant. She has a BS in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated with highest honors, and a master's in taxation from DePaul University, where she received special distinction. She is a member of the AICPA (Tax and Personal Financial Planning Division) and the Illinois CPA Society. Brittney is currently serving a three-year term on the AICPA Executive Personal Financial Planning committee.
