The journal is broad based, but with a strategic focus, covering aspects of marketing, logistics and information technology, economics, management and organizational behaviour in relation to the operation of supply chains in all sectors. The journal aims to encourage the development and implementation of supply chain systems which achieve higher levels of service and substantial savings in costs.

With the globalization of business comes increased cross-border activity and new investment in overseas economies, both developed and developing. Whilst this brings new opportunities, both for the companies investing and the economies in which they invest, it also brings additional costs, particularly in terms of risk management and the logistics of multiple sourcing for multi-product enterprises. The journal will focus on these and associated issues to bring the research focus of academics closer to the practical problems facing commercial managers in a rapidly changing business environment.
