About the Authors

William J. Rothwell is professor of human resource development on the University Park Campus of The Pennsylvania State University. He is also president of Rothwell and Associates Inc., a private consulting firm specializing in a comprehensive approach to human performance improvement, which has a client list that includes 32 multinational corporations. Previously Assistant Vice President and Management Development Director for the Franklin Life Insurance Company in Springfield, Illinois, and training director for the Illinois Office of Auditor General, he has worked full-time in human resource management and employee training and development since 1979, combining real-world experience with a cademic and consulting experience.

H. C. Kazanas is professor emeritus of education at the College of Education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He received his B.Sc. and M.Ed. degrees from Wayne State University in industrial education and his Ph.D. degree in education from the University of Michigan.
