About the Author

Cindy Huggett has taught hundreds of training classes for a variety of audiences. Her participants have ranged from executives to frontline employees. She has successfully designed curriculums, facilitated classes, and led training rollouts in almost every industry and every size organization.

Cindy started her training career as a software instructor, teaching corporate clients how to use personal computers when they were new to the workplace. She’s always been an early adopter of technology, and enjoys sharing her lessons learned with others.

Cindy has spent the last 18 years in various training, consulting, and learning management roles. She currently owns an independent consulting practice (atrainerslife.com) and is also a Training Performance Consultant with AchieveGlobal (achieveglobal.com).

Cindy co-authored two ASTD Press Infolines, “Simple, Effective Online Training” (January 2008) and “Designing for the Virtual Classroom” (November 2009). She has also contributed to the The Trainers’ Warehouse Book of Games (Pfeiffer, 2008) and the forthcoming The Leadership Challenge: Activities Book (Pfeiffer, 2010).

She holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. Cindy was one of the first training professionals to earn the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation.

Cindy’s passion in life is helping others achieve success. She has been recognized numerous times for her leadership skills and commitment to serving others. She is the past president of the ASTD Research Triangle Area Chapter and the current chairperson of ASTD’s National Advisors for Chapters. Cindy connects with individuals by offering development opportunities for their personal growth. This book continues her passion to help others, with hope that classroom trainers achieve success in virtual deliveries.
