Everyone is susceptible to Legionnaires' disease, which is a form of pneumonia caused by inhaling water that is contaminated with Legionella bacteria. If left untreated, this disease can be fatal. This course is intended for learners who work in environments where Legionella is a risk, raising awareness of the risks of waterborne disease caused by Legionella bacteria and the means to prevent it. In this course, you'll learn what Legionnaire's disease is and about the bacteria that causes it. You'll learn about the potential risks posed by different types of water systems and recognise suitable control measures that might help prevent an outbreak. You'll also be introduced to the legal duties of those who work with water systems for controlling the spread of Legionella bacteria. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by New Level Safety Limited, a professional services company specializing in corporate health and safety management.
