According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, or FMCSA, collisions at intersections alone account for 45% of all reported crashes and 21% of fatalities. Intersections are just one of many common hazards you may encounter every day. In order to safely negotiate the hazards you come into contact with, you must be familiar with the procedures and precautions to take. In this course, you will learn about what you need to do to safely negotiate turns and merging, intersections, downgrades, and railroad crossings. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by EnSafe Inc., a global professional services company focusing on engineering, environment, health and safety, and information technology. Please note, the course materials and content were current with the laws and regulations at the time of the last expert review, however, they may not reflect the most current legal developments.
