Scissor lifts are powered, mobile devices that raise personnel vertically to allow them to safely reach a predetermined working height. But, as with any heavy equipment, scissor lifts can be very dangerous if used without due care and attention. This course will teach you how to inspect your lift and the work area, understand the physical hazards involved in working with a scissor lift, and what the standard safety features of a scissor lift are. You'll also learn about the basic training requirements stipulated by OSHA and some general best practices for operating scissors lifts. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by EnSafe Inc., a global professional services company focusing on engineering, environment, health and safety, and information technology.
