Tech & Dev Release & Roadmap

September 27, 2021 | by Mike Hendrickson

As we wrapped up our 2nd quarter in July we thought it would be useful to highlight what we were creating in our Tech and Dev group the past few months and is now available for most learners worldwide. There is an itemized list of all courses released below.

We'd like to highlight a few items that we think are of particular interest for our learners everywhere. We have seen more than ~35,000 registered learners sign up for our numerous Bootcamps in the past 12 months. An additional 65,000 users have access the on-demand Replays which are available in Percipio for all bootcamps. We have a wide range of topics including PMP cert prep, Security, Data Science, DevOps, Programming, and Software Craftsmanship. Replaying these Bootcamps at your own pace and convivence is a great way to explore the topic more deeply. In fact, you can now open a lab/practice Sandbox and follow along with all the instructors' examples. You can search for Sandbox in Percipio or search for a topic and then filter on Lab as the modality. We have 42 Sandboxes at this time and they all contain different tech stacks for learners to explore and use for making their learning more personal.

In the second quarter of 2021 we released more than 175 hours of Aspire Journey content, with at least 100+ more hours coming. There are more than 55 hours of new Programming and 27+ hours of Data Science content that released in this quarter (May, June, July). There are a couple of areas to highlight. We have a new Load-Balancing proficiency journey available now and one that has been out for awhile and moving to the top of our most used, our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) joureny. Our Aspire journeys in Tech & Dev have two main kinds of journeys. One is our Role-based journeys where we help learners move from one role to another, with typically four roles available in these journeys. A proficiency journey is a deep dive on one role and one role only. A couple of other exciting journeys are Go Programming, Java Novice to Javanista (following the wildly popular Python Novice to Pythonista), and Pythonista to Python Master. If you have not tried these yet, I highly recommend you do.

We recently rolled out our new Partner's Cloud Challenge Labs. LearnOnDemandSystems has partnered with us to deliver more than 360 labs that fall into Guided, Advanced, and Expert categories. We have ensured that our learners have options when learning and practicing around Cloud technologies. LearnOnDemandSystems has the breadth and depth that we require and they have a few things coming later this year that should please even the most persnickety learner.

On the partner front, we added Amazon learning content last quarter and this quarter we just completed adding thousands of hours of Microsoft Learning content. We believe that having the most recent content from both these providers gives our learners the most recent learning assets directly from the source. So whether your are and AWS house or a Azure house, or hybrid, we have you cover well. What we hear from most of our customers is they are hybrid with a slight emphasis in one platform or the other. We are currently increasing our hybrid content so we can truly provide an agnostic experience for those getting started with cloud, or those progressing toward cloud-native scenarios.

Last quarter we delivered our first Tech leadership & decision maker course. The first journey was, Security for Leaders and Decision-makers and is intended to keep tech leaders and decision makers sharp so they have a full understanding of the components, tradeoffs, benefits, pitfalls of a given subject. Data for Leaders and Decision-makers is now available and one that I took the time to go through -- it was not a stroll in the park, it was a challenge. Make sure your tech leadership team is making the right decisions around these two important topic areas. We have more coming.

In the spirit of building better software, we have a new Serverless Journey that is perfect for those moving their development to the cloud and need that just in time scalability. With some much of our global economy tied to the cloud, shouldn't your developers have a thorough understanding of Serverless.

Below are the individual course assets released to our Platforms in the past 90-days.
