The Growing Demand for Certified Senior Human Resources Professionals®

October 28, 2021 | by Nancy Santacesaria, Project & Program Manager, Skillsoft Leadership & Business Skills

Have you thanked your human resources professional lately? If not, maybe you should – their expertise is needed now more than ever!

Although hiring has been depressed throughout the pandemic, organizations across all sectors are now increasingly looking to accelerate their hiring. As a result, human resources job postings have risen sharply and are now 52.5% above the pre-pandemic baseline. In addition, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS), jobs in human resources are on an upward growth trend. Specifically, the number of employment opportunities in human resources is expected to grow by 9% from 2020 to 2030.. The BLS also estimates approximately 14,800 new HR job openings annually. These openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations, retire, or otherwise exit the labor force. The BLS further predicts that professional human resources managers will be needed to ensure that firms understand and adhere to complexities and expected changes to existing employment laws.
