About the Author

Robert J. Rosania is a vice president and delivery consultant for Manchester, a human capital management consulting firm. He is a nationally recognized training and development professional with more than 20 years' experience working with individuals and organizations to improve performance, manage change, and develop effective career management strategies.

Rosania wrote The Credible Trainer: Create Value for Training, Get Respect for Your Ideas, and Boost Your Career (ASTD, 2000), a book that tied for the highest rating given by Training magazine for books reviewed in 2001. He's also a major contributor to an ASTD series, In Action: Improving Performance in Organizations, and he's written articles for Hospitals Magazine and Training & Development.

In addition, he has appeared on a number of Philadelphia radio programs speaking on career development and work-life balance issues and has been a guest presenter at national meetings for the American Dietitian Association, ASTD, and the Training Directors' Forum. As an adjunct instructor he has taught psychology at Mercer County Community College, as well as leadership and motivation at Penn State University-Ogontz. Furthermore, he's appeared as a guest lecturer for the graduate program in training and development at St. Joseph's University.

Rosania earned a master of arts degree in student personnel services in higher education (counseling) from Seton Hall University and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Dayton.
