If you've undertaken any travel lately, particularly by air, you don't need a lecture on how hectic it has become. More people are traveling to more places than ever before. The travel industry hasn't caught up or apparently woken up to the fact that yesterday's level of service will not be sufficient. Often, your challenge as an individual traveler is making the journey from point A to point B with the least amount of stress.

A key to reducing travel stress is simply maintaining a positive attitude. Much of the travel stress results from encountering new things and experiencing situations beyond our control. Most people are accustomed to having a large degree of control over situations in their daily life. Frustrating as it may be, even with perfect planning, traveling is one of the activities we often cannot control.

If you can step back and evaluate your attitude, you can likely curb many of the emotional responses that lead to travel stress. It is your option to control the way you experience a situation. Relax and focus on maintaining perspective and a positive attitude.
