Skillsoft Launches Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services Bootcamps

Free and open to anyone, an Azure Fundamentals Bootcamp will take place from June 1st-June 4th

BOSTON – May 28, 2020 –Skillsoft has announced the debut of its first Azure Fundamentals and Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner Bootcamps. These courses offer virtual, classroom-setting experiences. Available online and at learners’ convenience, these virtual Bootcamps can be attended live or by viewing recorded sessions. At a time when all in-person trainings and eventsare halted, Skillsoft’s Cloud Services Bootcamps offer live personalized instruction in a virtual classroom setting enabling technology professionals to maximize this time by keeping skills relevant and preparing for professional certifications.

Registration for Skillsoft’s Azure Fundamentals Bootcamp is now open for all. This four-day bootcamp, taking place June 1-4, will cover official AZ-900 exam objectives including:

  • Cloud concepts such as cloud deployment and service models
  • Azure topics such as cloud storage, compute, database, big data analytics, cloud DevOps, cost management, and monitoring
  • Azure cost Management, Azure DevOps and DevTests Labs, and more

Due to overwhelming response to the April AWS Cloud Practitioner Bootcamp, the company will hold another session for licensed customers July 27-July 28.

According to Gartner, by 2022, 60 percent of organizations will use a service provider’s cloud-managed service offering. In Robert Half’s recent Jobs and AI Anxiety report, 72 percent of managers surveyed said they’re already using the cloud, and an additional 23 percent plan to make the switch in the next three to five years. As organizations seek to leverage the cloud, demand is soaring for highly skilled cloud professionals. Indeed found that the share of Azure job postings between 2015 and 2019 increased by more than 300 percent, with AWS rising more than 232 percent.

“Organizations are increasingly competing for a limited pool of highly skilled cloud professionals. To move critical technology initiatives forward rapidly, reskilling talent is paramount,” said Michael Yoo, general manager, Technology & Developer, Skillsoft. “As learning and professional development has been hampered during the pandemic, our Azure Fundamentals and Amazon Web Services Bootcamps are designed to give learners the flexibility to complete sessions virtually and on their own terms while still supplying the tools they need to modernize their skill set.”

To further support learners, attendees also will receive access to the recorded Bootcamp sessions in addition to more than 7,000 on-demand tech courses in Percipio. The Azure Fundamentals Bootcamp is instructed by IT Consultant and Trainer Dan Lachance, who has delivered certified technical training for a number of products related to Novell, Lotus, IBM, Microsoft, and many others since the 1990s. The AWS Cloud Practitioner Bootcamp is instructed by Michael J Shannon, who throughout his 30 years in IT, has worked as an employee, contractor, and consultant for several companies including Platinum Technologies, Fujitsu, IBM, State Farm, and Thomson.

In this setting, learners are encouraged to interact with the instructors and each other, maximizing the value delivered to learners.
