Book Highlights for April 2023
“Read. As much as you can. As deeply and widely and nourishingly and irritatingly as you can. And the good things will make you remember them, so you won’t need to take notes.”
How do you like to read? Do you prefer to hold a book in your hands
and run your fingertip down the page? Or are ebooks more convenient for
you since they can be accessed on a smartphone or a tablet? Or maybe
instead, audiobooks are your first choice since you can listen to them
anywhere—on your daily commute, at the gym, or even while you cook
One of the trends I've observed in the media for 2023 is the increased preference and consumption of ebooks or digital books, but especially audiobooks. Audiobooks were growing in popularity before the pandemic, then saw more than 13% growth in sales during the pandemic, and revenue from audiobooks is expected to reach $35.05 billion in 2030.
With over 3,800 audiobooks on the Percipio platform, Skillsoft
delivers the most high-profile audiobooks for learners and offers the
largest audiobooks collection of any corporate learning provider. We add
new audiobooks every week, so I encourage you to take your learning to
the next level and start listening!

We live in conversations like fish live in water—we’re in them all the time, so we don’t think about them much. As a result, we often find ourselves stuck in cyclical patterns of unproductive behaviors. We
listen half-heartedly, react emotionally, and respond habitually, like we're on autopilot. This book is a practical guide for thoughtfully reflecting on conversations so we can avoid the common pitfalls that cause our relationships and work to go sideways. Chuck Wisner identifies four universal types of conversations and offers specific advice on maximizing the effectiveness of each.
The Art of Conscious Conversations is available on Percipio as a digital book and an audiobook.
